Climate

In Bhutan you would experience the different types of climatic conditions, depending upon different altitudes and seasons. To the south it is hot and humid, while the up hills and Mountains towards the north are under perpetual snow. Rainfall can differ within relative short distance due to rain shadow effects. We have four seasons which are Spring (march-may), Summer (June-August), Autumn (September-November), and Winter (December-February). Normally, the month of July and August experiences heavy rainfall. In the month of September, as per the astrologers, a day is observed  and celebrated as  a festival known as Thrue (blessed rainy day) after which rainy season is supposed to be over. Spring and autumn is great seasons to visit Bhutan. In winter the temperature drops down to minus because of snowfalls. Days are usually perfect durig the autumn and winter seasons though cold is something to be considered.
